Meet Liat

Meet Daniel

When Liat’s dad passed away, her mom realized that Liat needed someone to help pick her up. She contacted Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Liat was matched with Anna. Immediately, Liat’s mom saw a shift in Liat’s happiness and openness—Anna’s positive energy was rubbing off on her.

Liat began to look forward to the weekend and was interested in trying new things. Now, Liat and Anna love going out for Sunday morning brunch and exploring the city. As long as they get to spend time together, Liat has a smile on her face.

Over the years Liat’s mom has had some financial struggles, and the holidays are often a difficult time. Knowing that Liat has the chance to open a gift under the lights of the menorah is something the entire family is grateful for. Give a Holiday Gift Now.

Meet Max

Max has struggled a lot—his mother was addicted to drugs and his father was incarcerated. Without his parents in his life, Max didn't have anyone to look up to — but when he was connected to JBBBS, everything changed.

Max was matched with his Big Brother Yoni, and Yoni has taught him to ride a bike, play soccer and appreciate the arts. Most importantly, Yoni has helped Max find his strengths and boost his confidence. Max is significantly stronger emotionally and socially as a result of Yoni’s unwavering and unconditional support.

Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters has also helped Max and his grandparents with financial support, including new winter boots for Max last year, a soccer ball to play with his Big Brother and gift cards so he can continue to explore his artistic side. Give a Holiday Gift Now.

Meet Lexi

Lexi, at twenty six years old, has faced a lot during the last year and a half. Both she and her mom have struggled with medical issues, and Lexi has had several hospitalizations. But through it all, she gets strength from JBBBS’ Friend 2 Friend Program (F2F).

Lexi attends JF&CS’ Chaiworks during the day, and for the past three years has enjoyed time with a wonderful F2F MAGIC volunteer once a month, and a F2F Community volunteer once a month. Her involvement in F2F has afforded her happiness, friendship, increased self-esteem and a greater ability to navigate community and social situations.

Lexi has also benefitted from the generosity of donors through Project Dreidel. With last year’s gift came a little less stress, a whole lot of smiles and the opportunity to partake in the holiday in a way that she would otherwise have not had the means to enjoy. Give a Holiday Gift Now.
